September 11, 2001 – It’s a day that changed the world, our country, our towns, and everyone of us.
246 people went to sleep for their morning flights on 9/11.
The night before, 2,606 people went to sleep for work.
25 flight attendants packed their bags for their early reports.
343 firefighters, 60 police officers and 8 paramedics went to sleep for their morning shifts. None of them got to see past 10:00am on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001.
Lives were lost and the families of the fallen were forever changed.
Reflecting on that day, we will always see the evil that took the lives of too many, but even more so, we saw America standing as one. We saw kindness and compassion from perfect strangers.
The worst day in our history brought out the best in all of us.

We were not Democrats, Republicans, or Independents.
On that fateful day, Members of Congress put aside their differences and stood together to sing, “God Bless America.”
If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.
We will never forget that.
