Trust your Gutt Instinct

The last time that I took my Mother to the doctor’s office in early 2012, she was recovering from phenomonia.  Although on that day she was doing better, she was still weak and fragile from what her body had just been through.

When the doctor recommended that she have a flu shot on that same day, several questions and comments that came forth from me went something like this, “Shouldn’t we wait until she is completely healed?  “I’m not sure why this is a good idea as she is still tired, very fragile, and her health has been compromised”.

Ultimately, my Mother used her free will, trusted her doctor and went forth with the flu shot.

My heart knew that this wasn’t going to be the best for her.

Sadly, just two weeks later, my sisters and I said our final goodbyes to our sweet Mother.

Did the flu shot have anything to do with her death?    It’s hard to prove as she had many pressing health issues, however, it has never left my heart and mind since that day.

This experience taught me to ask more questions.    It taught me to seek out second opinions.

It taught me that we are our own best advocate.

When it comes to our health and well being, it is in our best interest to see the pros and cons of any medication, any treatments, etc.

There are times that the flu shot will be for our best.  In this experience, I truly believe it wasn’t.

Today, we are in the middle of some that are proponents to the Covid -19 shot.   We are also in the middle of some that aren’t.

Insurance companies are saying that it is free and available for those who want it.

God gave us free will and allows us to makes decisions based on that free will.

As for me, the experience with my Mother cannot be ignored.

Currently, it is important for me to look at all the information.    It is important to see the pros and cons.

It is important to look at as much research as possible.   This is still new and long term effects have yet to be studied.
