Virtual Healthcare Visits

Do you know if you health insurance plan allows you to have access to doctors 24 hours a day/7 days a week?

This access can be called Virtual Visits or TelaDoc just to name a few.

This benefit normally requires downloading an app which can be found through your health insurance company’s website.   You would have to set up an account which includes entering your information such as name, date of birth, medications, physician names, etc.

You can request a phone call and/or be live on a video so the doctor can see you face to face.

Why would this benefit be helpful to you?

You may not have to leave your home depending on the circumstances of the call.   You can be treated for common conditions such as a cold, flu, or bronchitis.   The physician can diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication if it is needed.

Depending on your specific plan, a dermatologist may be on board to look at any rashes, psoriasis, eczema, and/or acne conditions that may be of concern to you.

Video visits are available for counseling conditions such as stress, addiction, or depression.

There may be a co-pay for these benefits so it is worthwhile to check your insurance company’s website to know your out of pocket costs.

If you have ever sat in an emergency room waiting hours to be treated, this benefit helps to save time, money, and stress because something could have been resolved with a quick phone call.

It’s important to take a look at your plan and know every benefit, know your network, and educate yourself and how the plan can help you when you need it the most.

Balanced Care is here to assist you in making sure you take advantage of those benefits.

After all, this is your plan, your healthcare, and your hard earned income.
