Scrapbooking Your Life Story

When my husband turned 40, it was important to me to put his life story into memories by making him a scrapbook of his life.

When our children graduated from high school, one of their gifts was a scrapbook.

It took months and hours of work for every page, but the finished project was one they all treasured and one that still gets pulled out to share.

In looking at the pages, you will see the priceless moments in their lives that still take my breath away.

The dates my husband and I had while we were dating, the day of our marriage, the days that both of our sons were born, our first home, the first steps our children took, birthday parties, and every event we shared together as a family.

In looking through the pages, you will also see moments in our lives that bring us heartbreak, but also brought us closer together.

The day that my oldest son’s finger was accidently shut in the car door, the hospitalization of our youngest son on his 1st birthday as he healed from a flu that could have cost him his life, the memories of my husband waking up one morning deaf in his left ear and that hearing never coming back and the loss of family members.

These memories brought stress and countless hours of worry.  Some of these memories brought us to our knees with tears and heartbreak.

Some of these memories brought hours of time on the phone to insurance companies to get answers on claims.   As I looked through each scrapbook, an overwhelming sense of peace surrounds me because through every memory, we have been taken care of.

We have been taken care of by one another, our families, friends, and the insurance policies we purchased to help pay for expenses that weren’t expected.

I think the answer to these questions is obvious; it wasn’t.  53662391_10213553743946168_6906362778391412736_n
