The Annual Election Period is here.
What does this mean? Every year between October 15th and December 7th, individuals on Medicare can look at either Medicare Advantage or Prescription Drug Plans and make changes to their current plan or get a plan for the first time. Getting a plan for the first time could result in a penalty if you didn’t have a prescription drug plan when you were first eligible for Medicare or your plan through your employer deemed that your prescription drug coverage wasn’t credible.
If this sounds confusing, we want you to know that you are never alone with Balanced Care.
In 2019, there are more choices with both Medicare Advantage and Prescription drug plans. With that said, you could become overwhelmed at what plan would best fit your needs.
Some of your questions may include:
Does it make sense to change plans?
Will my doctor be covered if I change to another Medicare Advantage Plan?
Will my prescriptions be more costly if I change to another plan?
Will I have to change pharmacies?
Will my prescriptions be covered under a new plan?
Will my co-pays be higher for doctor visits? Will my co-pays be higher for my prescriptions?
At Balanced Care, we believe in providing information and education on the plans that will cover what you need. After all, this is not our healthcare; it is yours.
We want your doctors to be covered. We want you to know how a Medicare Advantage plan is different than a Medicare Supplemental Plan (Stay tuned for next week’s post that will go into more detail on this very subject).
We want you to know how an emergency would be covered.
We want you to know how to fill prescriptions if you are away from home.
Balanced Care knows that you have more questions than answers. That’s why it is important to reach out to us for guidance.
We will always want what is best for you; always have and always will.
