“I CAN DO IT MYSELF”!
If you are a parent, there is a very strong chance that you have heard these exact words more than once.
I certainly remember saying it to my parents and my sons certainly said it to me a few times.
While children need to explore doing things themselves, it is our job as parents to protect them against getting hurt.
Often my clients will reach out to me because they have already enrolled into a Medicare plan and now realize that the plan isn’t meeting their needs.
They may have waited to long to enroll into a healthcare plan and now have to wait another year before they can get a plan.
They may be paying for Medicare when they don’t need to because they still have health benefits through their employer.
They purchased a Life Insurance policy through the Internet and realized the death benefit would only pay out if the death was accidental.
These situations are all real life stories of individuals I have personally spoke to. In some circumstances, I could help to rectify the problem, however, there are many times that there is absolutely nothing I can do to help them right away.
These situations all have a common theme. They wanted to do it all by themselves and the consequences weren’t successful.
If the reason you are attempting to do it yourself is to save by not using a broker, the reason can’t be justified.
That is because working with a broker does not cost you a penny. Brokers do have the option of charging a fee for buying health insurance outside of the open enrollment period, but Balanced Care has chosen not to do this.
Brokers can never charge a fee for help with Medicare choices and if they do, they are going against all regulations that Medicare sets.
Instead of going it alone, reach out.
Instead of going it alone, Balanced Care welcomes you to call with questions.
In the end, you may decide to not use our services.
Either way, we would rather you know all your options instead of facing consequences that could cost you down the road.
The next time you hear your child say, “I can do it myself”, smile and say, yes you can, but let’s work together to ensure your success.
