Spring Fever

With the breeze in the air that still feels like winter, it’s no wonder that many of us have spring fever. For me personally, I long for the warmth of the sunshine, flowers blooming, and working in my gardens.

As long as this winter has been, many people I have spoken to are also eager for spring time. With this eagerness, many things happen. Snow blowers are put away (Thank God), but out come motorcycles. My son actually has a motorcycle and as much as he loves it, as his mother, I can’t help but worry.

When thinking of how much worry can overtake me, it reminds me of the reasons my work is so important. You see, many mothers, husbands, wives, and children will also worry when they see their loved one go off to work or to run an errand. It doesn’t matter if they ride a motorcycle, a bus, or a car, we still worry.

Statistics prove that accidents will happen. The National Safety Council says that 2,650 accidents happen every hour during the course of the year. Spring and summer are the worst for accidents including cars, motorcycles, swimming, and hiking. We can’t stop either worry or accidents from happening, however, we can do something to provide ourselves with some peace of mind. This is where Accident Insurance can help.

Accident insurance can be purchased individually or from your employer. Your medical health insurance plan will take care of your hospital and doctor bills, but accident insurance helps in many other ways. Accident Insurance helps you stay ahead of all the hospital and out of pocket expenses that add up so quickly after an accidental injury. After my husband’s injury is 2003, we were taken back by all the expenses. He wasn’t able to work so our income drastically reduced. I had to take time away from work to make sure he received the medical attention he needed. Our bills didn’t stop due to this; in fact, they were piling up. With this said, an Accident plan can help by providing benefits that are sent directly to you. You can use those benefits the way you see fit. Whether you use those benefits on your mortgage, your grocery bills, or unexpected costs such as transportation and lodging, the choice is yours.

I think of Accident Insurance as a safety net. It works with a medical health insurance plan or without. It is affordable and protects the ones you love and matter the most. Truthfully, when my husband was injured, bills took a back seat. My goal and purpose at that time was to get him the best medical attention I could and fast. Plans such as Disability and Accident really helped us when we needed it the most.
