Do I need life insurance? What type do I get? Should it be term or whole life? I have life insurance at work; do I need more? Should my spouse and children be covered? How much do I need?
If all these questions are making you feel like you need to pull your hair out right now, you are in the right place. September is just a few days away and is also Life Insurance Awareness Month. Balanced Care will be providing a lot of great information during the month of September and will be encouraging you to call for a no obligation FREE consultation.
One of the most frequently asked questions is this, “Do I really need life insurance”? The easiest way to answer this is if someone would be suffering not only emotionally, but financially, then the answer is yes. Life Insurance will provide a benefit (also known as the death benefit) after your death. The cash will help with final expenses which include funeral expenses, medical bills, attorney fees, and will replace the income that you normally would be bringing home. Everyday living expenses, debt, college planning and retirement will still continue to move forward and help the ones that are left behind.
Some people believe that if you are not working outside your home and are busy raising children, then you don’t need life insurance. Let me explain why Balanced Care does not believe this.
If the spouse that is raising children and believes in staying home dies suddenly, day care would be the only option. The other spouse that has been working outside the home would have to continue to do so. If the couple were not budgeting for childcare before, chances are they wouldn’t have it in the budget after a death. In this case, life insurance would help the surviving spouse with childcare and other expenses that can and do come up.
During the month of September, we will be providing many different scenarios that will outline the different needs for life insurance. From experience, no amount of money can bring back the one that is now gone. We know that death will always bring emotional turmoil to life. Add financial worries and stress and it is devastating. As September rolls around and we focus on keeping you aware of the questions that come up with regards to life insurance, we encourage you to ask your own questions as well. Chances are if you have a question, someone else does as well. We look forward to hearing from you and giving you continued peace of mind with your insurance needs.
